The very latest product reviews of current harm reduction technology.
Although we are primarily concentrating on heated tobacco products we also do reviews of other harm reduction products such as e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches. Heat Not Burn UK has a some very good professional reviewers (Paul, Shannon and Fergus) that constantly produce thorough and unbiased opinions on the many devices we have been sent over the last 7 years.
We get many companies contacting us asking us to review their heated tobacco devices. If you are a company that manufactures heat not burn products please feel free to contact us and we may review your device for free. The only stipulation is that you include the device for free and cover the postage costs when sending it to one of our expert reviewers.
We do our best to be impartial, if the device is great we will say it’s great, if it’s not very good we will say it’s not very good. We will also point out its flaws and in some instances even offer advice on what we think could make the device much better. :-)
Whilst I was busy consuming the Darling herbal heat-not-burn sticks, we received word of more tobacco sticks coming our way for review. Which, of course, is great news for both us and you the consumer. For us because we get to try new stuff (which is always fun) and, of course, you because you get more choice.
Recently, we reviewed the Cigoo sticks from Uwootech which were, admittedly, quite surprising as an alternative to the very popular HEETS from PMI. This time, we managed to get our hands on some more alternatives to HEETS. Unusually, for a heat-not-burn product, they don’t contain any tobacco.
Inspired by long time study on tea powder and food grade botanical essences from the mile high cloudy mountains in the middle of Taiwan, Dr. Ray Chung had dreamed of introducing healthy inhalation solutions for smokers on this warm and humid island in Pacific.
Dr. Chung has been a leading research professional at Taiwan Tsing Hua University with his academic focus on new technology innovations for tea products.
That’s right. These are made, primarily, with tea powder. It is certainly an interesting concept and a distinct divergence from conventional thinking on heated tobacco products. The question is then, are they any good?
As research has highlighted, smokers tend to smoke because they enjoy it. I certainly did and probably still would if not for the eye-watering cost of smokes in the UK (not quite as eye-watering as Australia mind). While vaping and, of course, heat-not-burn have both come a long way in providing that enjoyment – aka the Pleasure Principle – to many smokers, there’s just too much faff involved with both product types. Can’t say I blame them to be fair, there is a level of faff with both but, and it is a big but, the level of faff coincides with the experience you are trying to get.
