Furthermore, many independent manufacturers have looked at other ways of heating tobacco though, for the most part, utilising HEETS from PMI. Several manufacturers looked at using traditional cigarettes instead of HEETS. But, for most, they stuck to what works well. Using a spike or a blade to heat the tobacco from the inside out.
We now sell the fantastic brand new IQOS ILUMA and TEREA sticks and they are available to purchase on our website!
The IQOS ILUMA from PMI is a huge upgrade over the prior device, the hugely successful IQOS Originals DUO. This brand new device uses something called Smartcore Induction technology. This means that it doesn’t use the traditional blade to heat up the tobacco like the previous device did, the blade is actually built-in to the TEREA tobacco sticks that are inserted into the device. That means no more broken blades or having to clean a dirty device. You can already see what a huge improvement this is going to be in terms of convenience and usability.
The brand new IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA ONE do not use HEETS, they use something called IQOS TEREA Sticks. What are these new sticks and how do they differ from HEETS? In this blog post we will explain the difference.
The older generation IQOS including the IQOS Originals DUO all used HEETS. HEETS contain a small compressed tobacco plug that would be pushed onto a ceramic heating blade inside of the device. This blade would then heat up the tobacco without burning it, enough to provide a warm vapour to inhale without actually burning the tobacco. This is where the term “heat not burn” comes from.
Although we are predominantly all about heat not burn technology (it’s in our name!) we also sell other forms of harm reduction. Basically anything that isn’t as damaging as smoking we will sell. We make no apologies for selling products that are much safer than smoking. And the latest addition to our website store portfolio is the very popular disposable vape pods.
One of the most popular pages on this site is our review of Philip Morris’s innovative iQOS heated tobacco device. That’s not much of a surprise, because iQOS has probably had more publicity than any other Heat not Burn product and it’s also the most widely available. It’s steadily rolling out beyond the first test markets and can now be bought in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands and several other countries; before too long it will be available globally as an alternative to cigarettes, and I think it’s going to be a huge success.
It was around this time last year that we managed to get our hands on the Ploom X from Japan Tobacco Inc for review so when we were asked if we could review the updated Ploom X Advanced, we naturally jumped at the chance.
Considering we found, overall, the original Ploom X to be a solid device that does exactly what you expect it to. Heat tobacco sticks and provide a reasonably easy user experience. Fortunately, for yours truly, someone out there has begun to pay attention because one of the major drawbacks of many heat-not-burn devices is recharge time with most clocking in at 2 hours or more.
Just a quick update for our Ploom X users, we have just added two new EVO tobacco stick flavours to the website. EVO Azure and EVO Gold are now available to purchase on our online web store. This now brings our total number of different EVO flavours up to eleven.
